Polaroid/Fuji Transfer Workshops include Image Transfers and Emulsion Lifts and utilize the 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 size film (Polaroid 669 or Fuji FP-100C). Be aware that Polaroid has stopped producing film and the supply will eventually run out. Fuji film works for transfers and lifts but results are not as exciting as with the Polaroid film and the film is a bit more difficult to work with.
I am offering workshops during July, August, the first half of September, the last half of October and first half of November, primarily on the weekends, but can arrange them during the week. All workshops are held at my studio in Asheville, NC.
The fee for a 2-day basic beginning to advanced Image and Emulsion Transfer workshop is $300. Participants must bring their own film, either Polaroid 669 film (if you can find some) or Fuji FP-100C, at least 40 sheets of film. I would recommend bringing some of both films so you will be able to use Fuji once Polaroid runs out. I recommend obtaining film from either www.bhphotovideo.com or www.calumetphoto.com. Workshop hours are 9 to 5 with an hour break for lunch.

These are strictly hands-on workshops that concentrate on the techniques and creative possibilities of Polaroid/Fuji Image and Emulsion Transfer processes. After a brief discussion of equipment, techniques and a demonstration of the process, attendees will concentrate on producing their own work and refining their techniques.
The studio is located near central downtown Asheville, NC, in an historic district where there are numerous bed-and-breakfasts, and within 3-4 miles of various motels.
During the weekend Transfer workshops participants will enhance their creativity while learning the technical skills and tricks to produce lovely, artistic transfers. Participants should bring 20-30 well exposed 35 mm slides, and/or a good selection of 4x6 prints (color or B&W) to work with. All equipment necessary for the process is provided by the instructor. Participants must arrange their own lodging and meals. A list of accommodations can be found on my links page.
